IVY AKOSUA PREKO
Inspiring Widows Foundation was an idea that was birthed through our founder, Ivy Akosua Preko, about 7 years ago. The foundations’ name was given to a young woman who after her widowed grandmother passed in 2013, decided to embark on the vision of giving back to widows. Ms. Preko has done several activities and community work throughout Ghana to create more awareness surrounding the foundation; whiles making it effective as to buttress the course it’s aimed at.
In 2015, she held a massive donation in Asante Akim Agogo, Ghana under the guise of the foundation, and she continually promotes the objective it carries every year. She works hard to put things together to have a yearly event with the help of global sponsors . Her goal is to honor widows who are truly widows and lift them up through relentless contributions and donations. She finds peace in bringing widowed women from the local community together to give them inspiration, entrepreneur advice, and soon counseling for healing.
Ms. Preko wants to provoke unspoken discussions and raise awareness, which she hopes will also raise more supporters and sponsors.
